Home Green Home is St. Louis’ leader in home performance contracting. That means we are a company that performs building science testing and then installs whatever improvements are recommended by the outcome of the testing.
Here are the big differences of our company and our concept…
1) WE ARE NOT SALESMAN. We are architects, engineers, energy raters and certified building analysts.
2) When a customer calls us with the goal of reducing energy consumption or fixing home comfort problems, our first step is to perform a comprehensive 3-4 hour assessment of the home called an “Energy Audit.”
3) This testing helps assure that the improvements we recommend are the right ones. Our goal is to save you from buying expensive improvements that don’t create the desired result.
4) We provide written reports and provide counsel to help you make smart choices that achieve your goals and are cost effective.
5) You will receive a proposal for installing the suggested improvements, which you are not obligated to accept. However, it gives you the opportunity to make informed decisions and if you choose to accept the proposal, we will make the improvements and depending on the improvements, we will conduct a post-improvements blower door test so we can quantify the improvements we made. You can then use this information to prove your homes efficiency if you go to sell it.

Training
Our Home Performance Specialists are certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). In addition to their BPI certification, RESNET certification and registration with the State of Missouri, each of our Home Performance Specialists also carries additional credentials. Our staff includes structural engineers, architects, LEED AP’s, HERS raters and Certified Green Professional’s (CGP).

Home Green Home has performed 100’s of energy audits allowing us to say that we have some of the most experienced and capable auditors in the country. With so much discussion about the new green job market, you can rest assured that our auditors are not going to use your home for on-the-job training because they have been properly trained and have years of experience.
Technology
In addition to using state-of-the-art testing equipment like thermal imaging cameras, Home Green Home is proud to introduce software auditing tools to the St. Louis area. We are unique in that we include a manual j-calculation on every audit we conduct, which allows us to understand your energy usage and project the benefits of improvements more accurately.
